Terms of Use

Last updated: July 21, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Detox mobile app, website, and related services (together, the “Service”) operated by EpowerX Labs Private Limited (“EpowerX”, “we”, “us”). By downloading, accessing, purchasing through, or using Detox, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Detox does

Detox is a self-control and productivity tool that lets you select distracting apps and create a fixed-duration challenge. Depending on your platform, device, app version, and choices, Detox can use Apple Screen Time or Android system permissions to restrict selected apps, show a block screen, offer temporary breaks, and make removal during an active challenge more deliberate.

Detox depends on operating-system behavior, permissions, manufacturer settings, and other apps. We do not guarantee that every selected app will always be detected or blocked, that every system setting will remain available, or that the Service will operate without interruption. Detox is not medical, mental-health, emergency, or professional advice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms. Detox does not require an account. You are responsible for access to your device and for all choices made in the app on that device.

3. Challenges and device controls

Before starting a challenge, review the duration, selected apps, price where applicable, and protection choices carefully. A challenge is intentionally designed to make opening selected apps—and, if you enable optional uninstall protection, removing Detox—more difficult until the challenge ends. The temporary-break and protection-release controls displayed by your version of Detox are the supported ways to relax those controls.

On Android, core blocking can depend on Accessibility, Usage access, Display over other apps, battery or background settings, and manufacturer-specific pop-up or auto-start settings. Notifications and Device Administrator protection are optional. On iPhone, blocking depends on Apple’s Screen Time frameworks. If you deny or later revoke a required permission, force-stop the app, change a manufacturer setting, or if the operating system suspends Detox, some features can stop working.

You remain responsible for maintaining access to essential communications, safety information, financial services, travel, work tools, and any other app you may need. Do not select an app if losing immediate access to it could put you or someone else at risk.

4. Purchases

Where offered, Detox sells fixed-duration challenges as digital purchases. The price and duration are shown before you confirm, and these purchases do not renew automatically. Apple processes iPhone payments through the App Store, Google Play processes Android payments, and RevenueCat helps us deliver, validate, and restore purchase records. We do not receive your payment-card or bank details.

Apple's or Google Play's billing terms and refund rules apply to the purchase made through that store. You can request help through Apple's Report a Problem, Google Play's refund flow, or contact Detox support. Unless required by law or store policy, starting or completing a challenge does not by itself create a right to a refund.

The current iPhone and Android versions offer temporary breaks during an active challenge without an additional purchase.

5. Permissions and privacy

Detox asks for permissions only when a feature needs them. You can deny or revoke permissions in system settings, but dependent features may stop working. Android’s Accessibility permission is powerful; Detox presents a prominent in-app disclosure before opening the system Accessibility screen.

Our Privacy Policy explains what Detox processes on your device, what limited analytics and purchase data can leave it, how Android Accessibility and Usage access are used, and your choices. The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. Feedback and support

If you send feedback, screenshots, logs, suggestions, or a support request, you allow us to use that material to respond, troubleshoot, secure, and improve Detox. Do not send passwords, authentication codes, or payment-card details. This permission does not reduce any privacy rights you have under applicable law.

8. Intellectual property

Detox, including its software, design, branding, text, graphics, and other content, is owned by or licensed to EpowerX and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Detox for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.

9. Third-party services

Detox relies on platform and service providers including Apple, Google Play, Firebase, RevenueCat, email providers, and self-hosted analytics components. Your use of Apple, Google, or another third-party service can also be subject to that provider’s terms and policies. We are not responsible for services we do not control.

10. Changes and availability

We may update, suspend, or discontinue all or part of Detox, and we may change which platforms, apps, devices, or regions are supported. We may release updates needed for security, compatibility, billing, or legal compliance. Some updates may be required for continued use.

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new “Last updated” date. Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it. Continuing to use the Service after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.

11. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Detox is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, permanent compatibility with any device or third-party app, or that Detox will achieve a particular behavioral, productivity, health, or financial result.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits guarantees, warranties, rights, or remedies that applicable consumer-protection law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EpowerX and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or opportunity arising from the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising from the Service or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid for Detox during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where applicable law prohibits them.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to mandatory consumer rights and other applicable law, disputes arising from these Terms or the Service are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
